Hawkins Oil Festival “Once Upon a Time”

We are looking forward to our 36th annual Oil Festival, “Once Upon a Time”, that will be held on October 8, 2016. The line up for the annual parade will begin at 10 a.m. and roll out at 11 a.m. Our magical Grand Marshall will be, our very own, Kathy Murphy founder of the Pulpwood Queens. Kathy will lead us out and announce our parade. IF you are interested in being in the parade, please contact the Chamber Office.

Festivities include a Baby Contest run by the Hawkins Honors Society, Car Show,  a Free Kids Zone, entertainment by the Lady Cloggers  and Rafael Espinoza, and food and craft booths galore. Booth can begin setting up at 8 a.m. We ask our booths be ready to roll at noon, with tear down at 4 p.m. Please come out and join us for this free family event to celebrate our city, our history, and join us in leaving a legacy.

August 1 Meeting

Todays meeting will be held at the Community Center at 5:30 pm. Discussions today will be Fall Movie, Oil Festival, Long Range Plans, New shirts, Business showcase, and others. Please come and join us to let us know what we can do to help our local business’s and community.

July 11th Meeting and Movie Night.

Monday July 11th at 5:30 pm, our meeting will be held at the Community Center. Please come out to help in building our community. We are always looking for new members, new ideas, and help in growing our quaint town. We would love for YOU to be a part. See you there.

Also, the Movie night that was scheduled for July has been postponed until cooler weather. Be looking for it.

Family Movie Night

Due to the weather, we have rescheduled the Family Movie Night to Friday June 10th. The festivities will begin at 8:45pm at First United Methodist Church. Feel free to bring your own movie snacks, and blankets to lay out under the stars. This event is hosted by First United Methodist Church and your Hawkins Chamber of Commerce.
