The theme is Hawkins Celebrates Texas Culture
The Hawkins Oil Festival is a day of fun for the entire family. Traditionally held the Second Saturday in October, the event starts with a 5K run, continues with a classic car show, old-fashioned parade and outdoor festival with food, live entertainment, arts and crafts. The event concludes that evening with a street dance in the pavilion. Mark your calendar and join us for the fun.

Entertainment has really stepped up this year. Performing at the Festival is:
Rafael Espinoza – Something hot and fresh out of the kitchen, Rafael Espinoza is taking the music world by storm performing original music that is deeply rooted in the Blues. He is making a path for himself with a sound all his own that can’t be pigeon-holed. Graduating with Academic Honors “Magna Cum Laude” at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in August 2013, Rafael studied with the top professionals in the music industry and performed at some of Boston’s finest venues. Along with his Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Music, Rafael’s most recent achievements include participating in the opening performance for Country Music Legend Willie Nelson at Boston University’s Agannis Arena during Berklee’s Commencement Concert. The Bigsbys www.bigsbysband.com Biography: Good Will Suitcase, the new record from The Bigsbys, is set to release in Spring 2014. The Bigsbys play original roots rock music. It’s muddy and blue with a soul-filled center. Gritty, yet easy on the ears… The Bigsbys toured 9 states and counting in support of their True Story album on top of a full-time Texas schedule. The Bigsbys are Alex Smith(Guitar/Lead Vocals), Brad Hobson(Lead Guitar/Vocals), Russell McClendon (Bass) and Nick Odom is featured on drums.
Shinebox - What do you get when you take three of the best musicians in the Ark-La-Tex (Donny Hyles – Bass & Vocals; Eric Dobbins – Guitar & Vocals; Marty Arbter – Drums & Vocals) and put them together? Started in 2002, Shinebox has been rocking the Ark-La-Tex for 10 plus years. A versatile band, Shinebox can go from Blues to Rock to Country, and everything in between.
Stefan Cotter and the Rastabillys – Cotter was born in 1986 in Morgantown, WV. He has been playing music since 1995 when his father handed him a trumpet and taught him to read music. Stefan received his first guitar in 1998 and has been playing in bands since 2000. He studied Classical/Jazz Guitar Performance at West Virginia University for 6 years before moving to Tyler, TX in 2010. Jacksonville, Texas native and Rastabilly drummer, Jakeb Ham, is an educated and trained musician. A teacher of the arts, Jakeb has played in bands and toured extensively throughout Texas and the Southwest in the past. Groovemeister bassist, Cam Holley, and percussionist Shane Swan round out this most deliciously tight rhythm section. The band rocks! In Texas, Stefan & The Rastabillys have opened for Uncle Lucius, Ray Wylie Hubbard, JB and The Moonshine Band, The Greyhounds, The Effinayes, and have performed at a wide range of venues, including: Stanleys BBQ, Fresh, The Coffin Shop, Tara Winery, Fast Freddies, The Barn, Hotel Fredonia, Red Goose Saloon, Villages Marina Clicks, and many others. www.stefancotter.com
